The Listening line
Newark and Sherwood CVS is a support and development organisation, promoting and encouraging local voluntary activity in the Newark and Sherwood area. With funding from Newark and Sherwood District Council, it is running a Listening Line service to support those who are lonely while isolating at this time. Telephone support is a positive step to engage with people who may have little or no contact with others. In addition, self-isolating may lead to issues with confidence, self-esteem and loneliness.
If you know someone who might be interested in a quick natter they can call 07535134032 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org

Mental wellbeing live sessions and booklet
Newark and Sherwood District Council has been working with Kevin Guthrie, a Psychotherapist based in Newark, to support people’s mental health and wellbeing since the start of October through Facebook live events.
From 7pm until 8pm every Wednesday, Kevin has been sharing his mental wellbeing techniques and answering resident questions on his Facebook page ‘Guthrie Therapy’. These videos have been streamed live on the Newark and Sherwood District Council Facebook page too.
Now, thanks to their success and growing audience, the sessions will continue every Wednesday from 7pm until 8pm for the next few weeks. Those interested can go to the Guthrie Therapy Facebook page to find out when the next session will be: www.facebook.com/guthrietherapy
Kevin has also created his own mental wellbeing guide that he’s designed to support the community during this challenging time. A copy of the booklet can be found by clicking this link Your guide to winter wellness.
